Raquel Vazquez Ludwig, PA-C, MMSc
| Raquel Vazquez Ludwig, PA-C, has found her
dream job in Family Practice. She works at Southside Medical Center, a
community health clinic in Atlanta. Her favorite part of her job is staffing
the mobile unit clinic. The mobile unit goes out several times per week to
rural and underserved areas in Georgia to provide primary and preventive
healthcare including dental and women’s health. “It’s my favorite part of my
job. I get to meet amazing people who are often going through a great deal
of hardship. We see a lot of chronic conditions like hypertension and
diabetes, but also life-threatening conditions. Most of our patients have
nowhere else to go.” The clinic is pulled by a T-700 Kenworth tractor
trailer. It includes four exam rooms (2 for general medicine, 1 for
gynecology visits, and 1 for dental). It also includes a waiting/triage
room, kitchen, and restroom. The unit has AC/heat, radio, TV, wi-fi, and
medical equipment in all of the rooms. The team includes a Physician
Assistant, Medical Assistant, driver, Dentist, Dental Hygienist.
