The majority of Emory PA students finance their education through student
loans. In addition, there are several scholarships available which can help
defray the costs of attending the Program. The scholarships available are:
Rural Student Scholarship
Underrepresented Minority Student Scholarship
Humanitarian/Community Service Scholarship
Military Veteran Student Scholarship
Mary Elizabeth Bowns Memorial Scholarship
The Rural Student Scholarship (amount up to $3000) is available to both
first and second year PA students, and based upon a student application.
Applicants for this scholarship are expected to have a personal familiarity with
rural health issues.
The Underrepresented Minority Student Scholarship (amount up to $3000) is
available to both first and second year PA students who are minority students
underrepresented in the PA profession, and based upon a student application.
The Humanitarian/Community Service Scholarship (amounts up to $3000) is
available to first and second year PA students, and is based upon a student
application. Applicants for this scholarship will be expected to have evidence
of dedication to service to populations in need.
The Military Veteran Student Scholarship (amount up to $5000) is
available to first and second year PA students, and based upon student
application. Applicants must be a Veteran honorably discharged from military
service or currently serving in the military.

The Mary Elizabeth Bowns Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to one
or two currently enrolled Emory PA students (in amounts of up to $5000).
Recipients are chosen by the PA faculty, without student application for the
scholarship. The scholarship was established in loving memory of Mary Elizabeth
Bowns by her family. Ms Bowns represented the traits of scholarship, leadership,
community service, and commitment to the PA profession that the Emory PA Program
seeks in students.
